In 2023 I delivered two more projects for Fieldfolio, again leading the work as developer and architect alongside my team.
The first was Fieldfolio Per-Order Pricing, a new subscription model for sellers. Rather than a flat fee, sellers could subscribe on a volume- and tier-based plan that charged them based on the number of orders they received, capped at a maximum amount. I built the pricing model on Stripe, along with a custom billing engine and invoicing system to handle the per-order charging and the caps.
The second was Fieldfolio Inventory & Order Management, which expanded Fieldfolio’s offering with some basic inventory and order management. That covered stock-on-hand management and stock history, handling out-of-stock products, workflows for order fulfilment and refunds, a basic backordering system, and order tracking and notifications for customers.
Both were built on Fieldfolio’s existing stack – Ruby on Rails, MySQL and GraphQL on the backend, with React and Next.js on the frontend.
